As a Shift Manager, your area of accountability will be across all manufacturing areas (Mixing, Production and Packing). You will be required to: -

  • Develop your team to perform to the highest standards, creating a positive team environment which produces products safely to the highest quality, the lowest cost and ensuring that line performance targets are met (OEE, Line Speed & Planned Downtime).
  • To promote and support all Health and Safety initiatives, including accident reports.
  • To set, measure and develop KPI’s for your shift.
  • Manage and motivate the team to hit the KPI’s.
  • Manage all aspects of raw material usage and waste, actively looking to develop systems and processes which lead in reductions.
  • Manage the selection and deployment of all permanent and temporary staff.
  • Maintain the safe and efficient operation of all machines and equipment and pro-actively report any issues to the engineering team.
  • Manage, train, mentor, coach and if necessary, discipline staff.

You:

  • A good all-round general education, GCSE’s or equivalent in English & Maths
  • Level 3 in Food Safety and Level 3 HACCAP desirable
  • Preferable previous experience in a similar role in food manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of machinery and experience in chemical use and handling.
  • Knowledge and extensive practical application of legislation relating to food composition and labelling, ideally acquired across several product categories.
  • Possess good IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word & Excel.
  • Leadership skills to motivate staff and manage a team.
